It started as a simple idea. GameAccess.ca had collected quite an impressive cluster of information and the KLF Media team thought it would be great to provide an improved search tool. Like all other gamers out there, we were always wondering which Xbox 360 sports games could be played locally with 4 players, or which cool shooters could also be played head to head on a console. The Game Access advanced search feature was just that; a tool to provide a list of games that met certain requirements. It was basic but it worked great.

Over time we thought the search tool could be more, but Game Access still had limited information. Thus, the idea for GameJab was born. We would provide an online video game knowledge base that allows intelligent searches. A lot of databases exist, but unfortunately they are only game title oriented. Google can do intelligent searches, but since it's not a game database, it can't know if the really content exists on each page.

In the Beta phase, our objective is to collect as much information as possible. This is why most of the features involving adding content are much more complete than the search features. In the upcoming months, you will see weekly updates with new amazing features to try out. Some of these features are revolutionary and will affect how gamers everywhere get information on their favorite past, current and upcoming games.

The project is community based. Users can make updates, rank up, receive points, and compete with others for the top spots to earn cash. We're giving away thousands of dollars each month! The website is also made to support all known languages.

Why the name GameJab?

We refer to Jabs as short and quick game updates. Just like in boxing, it's the combination of Jabs that makes the result interesting and the person with the most usually wins the cash.

Where is GameJab from?

GameJab offices are based in the beautiful city of Montreal, Quebec, Canada.

How are you different from IGN, GameSpot and other similar websites?

GameJab is a platform; the hosted content is limited to covers, logos and general game information. We mostly provide verified links to all types of content. We foresee gamers starting their search on GameJab, and then moving on to other websites via our platform.

How do you make money? I see no ads!

At the moment we don't. Our mother company, KLF Media, has a few successful ventures and can assume the costs of running an advertisement free service. In the long term, we think that GameJab can offer targeted products and services from game publishers and other companies in a way that complements the GameJab experience. Gamers buy games, consoles, and other accessories so we feel that if we can also facilitate their product search and decision making, our objective will be complete as a video gaming resource.
